Happy Nurse's Week! Love ya!

            Nursing Inspiration

            I asked for Strength
And was given Difficulties to make me strong.

            I asked for Wisdom
And was given Problems to solve.

            I asked for Prosperity
And was given a Brain and Brawn to work.

            I asked for Courage
And was given Danger to overcome.

            I asked for Love
And was given Troubled people to help.

            I asked for Favors
            And was given Opportunities.

I received nothing I wanted. I received everything I needed.

May I be a dedicated and caring nurse, Lord.
May my HANDS be competent and soothing.
May my SMILE be sincere and understanding.
May my MANNER be warm and professional.
May my HEART be compassionate and giving.
          And
May my SPIRIT be hopeful and uplifing.

        A Nurse's Prayer
As I care for my patients today
be there with me O Lord I Pray.
        Make my words kind
        it means so much.
        And in my hands place
        your healing touch.
        Let your love shine
        through all that I do.
        So those in need may
        hear and feel you.
If I can stop one heart from breaking
I shall not live in vain
If I can ease one life the aching
        or cool one pain
        or help one fainting robin
        onto his nest again
I shall not live in vain
        ~Emily Dickinson

        A Nurse's Prayer
        Dear Lord, Great Healer,
        may Your great strength and
        power flow through me;
lend skill to my hands and vision,
        judgment to my mind
        and compassion to my heart.
        Grant me the strength to
        minister to my patients
        in their hour of suffering and travail;
        and may I faithfully discharge
        my duties in deep humility,
worthy of the trust and faith placed in me.
        Amen
        Oh my God,
teach me to receive the sick in Your Name.
        Give to my efforts success
for the glory of Your Holy Name.
It is Your work, without You I can not succeed.
Grant that the sick You have placed
in my care may be blessed,
and not any one be lost
because of neglect on my part.
Help me to overcome every temporal weakness,
and strengthen in me whatever will enable me to
bring joy to the lives of those I serve.
Give me grace for the sake of Your sick ones
and of those lives that will be influenced by them.
        Amen

Lord please help me to bring comfort where there is pain,
        courage where there is fear,
        hope where there is despair,
acceptance when the end is near,
and a touch gentle with tenderness, patience, and love.

        A Nurse's Wish

To be a nurse requires dedication,
with years of study and preparation.
I pray for guidance and humbly ask
that I will do well at this chosen task.

When illness strikes or pain demands,
and a life is placed within my hands,
give me compassion, knowledge and skill
to do the things that comfort and heal

Suffering makes patients' fears grow worse
and they seek reassurance from their nurse.
Help me see things from their point of view
and always know what is best to do.

May I have a part in some small way,
in restoring good health to someone today.
Let my work be all that I want it to be
~ I ask the Great Healer to work through me.
